Amine Harit: Looking forward to the goal, annoying me about the result

The Royal Blues had hoped for more than just a draw against 1. FC Cologne, as Ralf Fährmann, Leon Goretzka and Amine Harit admitted after the final whistle. schalke04.de has recorded the statements of the trio for 2: 2 in the VELTINS-Arena.

Ralf Fahrmann:

We were clearly superior to the game and overall had the better chances. Unfortunately, we missed rewarding us for a good game. We threw everything in the balance, in the end we have to be satisfied with just one counter. There were a few unfortunate situations with us, we could not complete our match plan completely. We knew that the game against Cologne would be difficult. The table has had no meaning for us in advance. We will continue to work hard to be able to decide such games for us in the future.

Leon Goretzka:

We would have preferred to win, that's perfectly clear. At the beginning of the game, we were pretty good at taking the euphoria out of the derby. The stadium went well, it was a few turbulent minutes. Then it is a bit flattened, we lost the train to the gate. In the break we already knew that only one goal would not be enough for the win. Due to the fact that we were twice in the lead, the point division feels a bit like a defeat. But it does not help to put your head in the sand. We have to gather and refocus on the difficult tasks that await us later this year.

Amine Harit:

I'm happy to have scored my first goal in the VELTINS Arena. It was a good feeling and very important for me to finally meet in front of my own fans. I would like to thank our fans for their support. It was amazing. That we did not win makes me sad. Unfortunately we slept a bit at times. For this we got the receipt.
